Have the opportunity to work at a ryokan, a traditional Japanese hotel, doing fully remunerated work as part of a working holiday in Japan. Learn about traditional Japanese culture and culinary arts and what is probably the highest service level in the world. Ryokans are typically of high standard, targeting Japanese and foreign tourists. World Unite! can also arrange jobs at Western-style hotels and ski resorts (except ski instructor roles) at various locations in Japan. Tasks may include housekeeping, preparing futons at night for guests, dishwashing and assisting in the kitchen, preparing tables and serving meals, welcoming and saying goodbye to guests, and supporting overall operations. Participants in this working holiday may choose the area they want to stay in. Duration lasts from one month to one year. To participate in this program, your nationality must be eligible for the Japan Working Holiday Visa; you must be 18 to 30 years of age. You should be able to speak Japanese at a conversational level. You can only book these placements without our Working Holiday in Tokyo package if you are already in Japan and have a suitable visa. The cost would then only be 40,000 JPY.
