Work With Horses in Australia Abroad

Kickstart your equine career with Paid Horse Work in Australia – the perfect opportunity for horse lovers aged 18 to 30 with a sense of adventure. Step straight into a guaranteed, pre-arranged paid groom role at a leading Australian stud farm, organised before you leave home. Begin your journey with 8 nights in Sydney, where you’ll recover from jet lag, explore iconic sights, and take part in a fun and supportive orientation. The week also covers practical essentials such as setting up your bank account, SIM card and tax file number, so you can hit the ground running. After Sydney, head to your confirmed full-time position with accommodation included. Placements typically run for 3 to 12 months and pay around $800 AUD per week, giving you the chance to earn, learn and travel. You’ll develop your skills with hands-on experience caring for horses while enjoying the Australia in a social environment. With 12 months of ongoing job support across Australia, you’ll have freedom to take on new equine or city-based roles later in the year. This is a unique and well-supported way to combine paid work, travel and your passion for horses in Australia’s incredible landscapes.

You really feel like part of the family working here

January 04, 2025by: Sally Dempster Program: Work With Horses in Australia Abroad

Working with the horses and the livery clients has been incredibly fun and the flexible working hours have meant it’s been really easy to do some exploring in my downtime! The horses are all really sweet and I’ve been able to ride in my free time as well. The local area is beautiful and the beach is only 5 minutes down the road. There are shops close by and amazing beaches all along the peninsulas coast, plus it’s close to Phillip Island so we’ve seen lots of adorable penguins in their natural habitat! My employers have been so incredibly welcoming and you really feel like part of the family working here, I would throughly recommending it to anyone looking for a working holiday with horses. The two dogs on site are also really fun and love to have cuddles and explore the beach with you!
